Subject: | [amigactive] Will AmigaOS 4.0 ever run on ... |
I've got an A4000 system that is probably still worth a silly amount of money, it has a CyberstormPPC, a CybervisionPPC, a sound board, I/O board, SCSI, DVD and bags of other little useful add-ons.
The problem is, that as high a specification as this machine is, it looks like I won't be able to run the up coming AmigaOS 4.x
Why is this ?
I'm guessing that the new OS is being developed on hardware suspiciously similar to mine (since the AmigaOne does't really exist yet) so why will it not be released for legacy systems ?
I don't want to get an AmigaOne board because a) I think it is a big cludge (a very clever cludge, but still a cludge) and b) The AmigaOnefor the A4000 hasn't even been mentioned as a product that is ever going to appear.
So what is a person who has a very expensive machine supposed to do ? Chuck it on ebay and spend an equal fortune on a more compliant system ?
